- 2 Springs curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- 1 tsp crushed coriander seeds
- Pinch asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tsp Rasam powder
- 2 Tbsp oil
- to taste Salt
Steps to make to make Amla Rasam Soup
- Wash the aamlas. Pressure cook for 1 whistle. Strain the Amlas and extract the seeds. Add the amlas to the blender
- Blend smooth. In a pan heat oil and add hing, add mustard and cumin seeds, when it splutters, add crushed coriander seeds and crushed garlic. Stir for 1 min. Add red chilli powder. Stir well. Add Amla paste
- Mix well. Add jaggery powder to tone down the tartness of the Amla. Add Rasam powder, salt. Stir well and add water to make a watery consistency. Boil for 5 mins.
- When you reach your desired consistency, set aside
